Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Zambila. What you can expect from the app, what we ask of you, and how either side can end it.
In force since 14 September 2026.
01Who you are agreeing with
Zambila is made and run by SethEngine, a sole trader (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands under KVK number 96985224. Where these terms say we or us, that is who they mean, and you can reach us at contact@sethengine.com.
02What this covers
These terms apply to the Zambila app on iOS and Android, and to this website. Using either one means you accept them. If you would rather not, the remedy is simple: stop using Zambila and delete your account.
03Who can use Zambila
You need to be 13 or older. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to something like this, that age applies instead. One account per person, and the details you sign up with should be your own.
04Your account
Keeping your sign-in to yourself is your side of the bargain, and anything done from your account counts as done by you. Tell us if you think someone else has got in, and we will help you shut it down.
05Your photographs stay yours
You keep every right you have in the photos and wallpapers you make. What you give us is narrow permission to do the job you are asking for: to store your pictures, show them back to you on your own devices, and show the ones you publish to the people you publish them to. Nothing you keep private is used to promote Zambila, and nothing is sold or licensed on to anyone else.
06What you publish
A wallpaper you put in Discovery, your handle and your profile picture can be seen by other collectors, and they stay visible until you take them down or delete the account. Publish only photographs you took yourself, or ones you have the right to share.
07An identification is a best guess
Zambila names the most likely species from the picture you give it, with help from an outside identification service. It is often right and sometimes wrong, and a name that sounds certain is still a guess.
- Never eat, brew, apply or medicate on the strength of an identification alone: plenty of harmless species have a dangerous lookalike the app cannot reliably tell apart.
- Do not lean on it where being wrong carries a cost: foraging, treating animals, or anything professional, regulatory or legal.
- If it matters, ask a person who can hold the actual plant: a botanist, a pharmacist, a poison centre, your doctor or your vet.
08What you may not do
The things that would spoil Zambila for everyone else, or break it:
- Upload anything unlawful or abusive, or someone else’s work passed off as your own.
- Pose as another person, or pick a handle meant to be mistaken for theirs.
- Scrape the service, hammer the API, or pull other collectors’ photos out in bulk.
- Take the app apart to rebuild it, or use it to train another identification model.
- Sell, rent or resell access to Zambila, or any part of what it gives back to you.
09The app will change
Zambila is free, and it comes as it is on the day you open it. Features arrive, change shape and occasionally go away, and there is no promise that the service runs without interruption. If something you have work in is going to be removed, the app will say so first.
10Ending it
You can stop at any time, from the app or from this website. Deleting the account suspends it the same second and destroys what is in it 25 days later. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why when we do.
11Where we stand if something goes wrong
Zambila comes as it is, without a warranty that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what follows from using it, and in particular not for anything that follows from a misidentified plant. Rights you hold as a consumer that cannot be signed away are untouched by any of this.
12Changes, governing law, and how to reach us
Dutch law governs these terms, and a dispute either side cannot settle goes to the competent court in the Netherlands. If the terms change in a way that matters to you, the app will say so rather than quietly swapping the page. Anything you want to ask about them goes to contact@sethengine.com.
